Plain English. No nonsense.

This policy covers the Rocket mobile app (iOS and Android) and this website. Rocket helps you track your dog's walks and activity. We built it to be useful to you and your dog, not to harvest data. We never sell your personal data, and we never use your health or location data for advertising.

What we collect

• Account: your email address, and your name if you provide it. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email and name from them.
• Your dog's profile: name, breed, birthdate, weight, city, and any photos you add.
• Walks and location: when you record a walk, we collect the GPS route (precise location) so we can show it on a map and calculate distance. We trim the first and last ~300m of every route before storing it, so your home and regular start points stay private.
• Activity and health: steps, active minutes, rest, distance, and a daily activity score, measured by the Rocket tracker over Bluetooth. If you choose to import walks from Apple Health (iOS) or Google Health Connect (Android), we read the walk/run/hike workouts and their routes you select.
• Photos: photos you pick for your dog or your profile, stored so they show in the app.
• Device and usage: a push-notification token (so we can send you walk and streak alerts), basic device info, and anonymous usage + crash data to fix bugs and improve the app.

How we use Apple Health & Google Health Connect data

If you grant access, Rocket readsthe walking, running, and hiking workouts (and their GPS routes, distance, and steps) that you explicitly select, only to import them as walks in your Rocket timeline. Rocket does not write to Apple Health or Health Connect. We never use this health data for advertising or marketing, never sell or share it, and never use it for any purpose other than showing it to you in the app. You can revoke this access at any time in your phone's Health Connect or Apple Health settings.

How we use your data

To run the app: show your dog's walks, activity, maps, streaks, badges, and the leaderboard; send the notifications you turn on; let co-owners you invite see the same dog; and keep your data synced across your devices. We also use anonymous, aggregated usage and crash data to find and fix problems.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data. We use a small set of trusted service providers who process data only to run Rocket on our behalf:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and photo storage (EU region).
• Expo — delivers push notifications.
• Mapbox — renders the walk maps.
• Apple / Google — sign-in, if you use it.
• Google (Gemini) — powers optional AI features (e.g. a stylized portrait of your dog, daily summaries). Only the specific photo or numbers needed are sent, and they are not used to train models.
• PostHog and Sentry — anonymous product analytics and crash reporting.
• Resend — sends co-owner invite emails.

Location, specifically

We use precise location only while you're recording a walk, including in the background so a walk is still captured when your phone is in your pocket. We use it to draw the route and measure distance. We trim route endpoints (~300m) to protect your home address, and we never share your location with advertisers.

Your rights & deleting your data

You can delete walks in the app at any time. To delete your whole account and all associated data, email runwithrocket@gmail.com and we'll erase it within 30 days. Under GDPR you also have the right to access, correct, export, or object to the processing of your data — same address, a real human replies.

Children

Rocket isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we'll remove it.

Security & where data lives

Data is encrypted in transit and stored on EU servers (Supabase, Frankfurt). We restrict access to the people who need it to operate Rocket. Rocket is a small operation based in Spain; GDPR applies.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app.
